One of Cathy Kightlinger's more recent columns was about how Jake Gyllenhaal might be a star at the Indy 500. One aspect of this column that I really enjoyed was the first graph. It was interesting, it drew me in, and it set up the whole column.
Kightlinger also did a really good job of providing information in a story-like way. There were interesting quotes sprinkled throughout so it had a good balance of information and quotes.
Something that I just recently noticed about Kightlinger's columns is that sometimes she tends to write lengthy sentences. I don't have a problem with that but sometimes (on few occasions) they can actually lose the reader. I'm tipping my hat off to her for doing a good job of not confusing the reader (or at least this reader).
